From 31 July 2024, all telcos are shutting down their 3G network

Find out if you’re at risk of losing access to mobile calls, SMS, and data after the 3G Network shutdown.

3G mobile device users

If you're on a 3G-only device, a 3G network bar or 'H+' icon will be seen at the top-right corner of your phone screen when Wi-Fi is disabled. You will no longer have access to voice, SMS, or data services.

This means you need to upgrade to a 5G enabled device.

3G SIM Card users

Users with a 3G SIM at risk of losing connectivity after the shutdown since this SIM card is not compatible with 4G/LTE or 5G.

Non-VoLTE users

While your device is already 4G-ready, you may still lose access to mobile calls if you do not have VoLTE in-built or enabled.

Activate the 5G SIM

Physical SIM: Once your physical SIM package has been delivered, you may follow the instructions that come with it to begin activation. eSIM: Simply connect your device to a Wi-Fi Network and install your eSIM according to the instructions sent via email.
