The world of smartphones has seen some remarkable changes in the past decade, but none match the impressiveness of the foldable smartphone. Reminiscent of the classic flip phone sold to millions all over the world, Samsung’s Galaxy Z series has brought a sense of nostalgia to an ultra-modern device that combines a phone and tablet in one. Beginning with the Galaxy Fold and followed by the Galaxy Z Fold 2, the series has reimagined what can be achieved with a handheld device that can double its display with a flick of the wrist.
Gone are the days when eyeing a new shiny upgrade meant tying yourself down to a two-year phone plan that cost more than it was worth. With Circles.Life, you get the freedom to choose how you want to enjoy the Samsung Galaxy Fold. More data, why not? More add-on boosters? Bring it on! You no longer have to worry about being tied in a two-year contract with our Combo Plan. It’s that easy.
H2 Breaking new ground with the Samsung Galaxy Fold
While it wasn’t the first foldable smartphone to hit the market, the original Samsung Galaxy Fold made a serious splash on release. The Fold is made possible by the creation of the Infinity Flex Display, a 7.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED polymer screen with a minor central crease to allow the display to be folded inwards, complemented by a smaller display on the cover. The central hinge opens the phone like your favorite novel, achieving a slender profile when closed for slipping into the pocket of your jeans. But, unfolded is where the device truly shines, doubling the display’s real estate and letting you multitask up to three apps at once thanks to the Multi Active Window. Talk about being efficient!
Samsung didn’t put all their eggs in one basket with the Fold, which means it’s more than a tablet that packs away nicely. No fewer than six lenses come together in the camera system, taking advantage of the huge display as a viewfinder.
Galaxy Fold rear cameras:
Wide: 12 MP, dual aperture f/1.5 + f/2.4
Ultra-wide: 16 MP, f/2.2
Telephoto: 12 MP f/2.4
Galaxy Fold front cameras (unfolded):
Selfie: 10 MP, f/2.2
RGB Depth: 8 MP, f/1.9
Galaxy Fold front camera (cover):
Wide: 10 MP, f/2.2
Keeping cameras on the front and back, whether the device is open or closed, gives you the chance to capture every moment – and your reaction. The triple camera system on the rear equips you for everything from sprawling panoramas to intimate close-ups, while the two front cameras make snapping beautiful selfies and high-quality video calls a breeze when the phone is unfolded. The extra front camera on the cover lets you snap a quick selfie without unfurling the Infinity Flex Display.
Samsung Galaxy Fold 2: Expanding the Z series
Alongside the Galaxy Z Flip, the release of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 put the Z series on the map, with the original Fold retroactively added to the new family of foldable devices. If we were excited for the original, it’s fair to say the sequel is an impressive step-up that propels this new generation of phones further than we thought possible. While the first Z Fold had a 4.6-inch display on the front cover, the Z Fold 2 is a massive upsize with an impressive 6.2-inch screen; this turns the device into a fully functional smartphone when closed and an even bigger 7.6-inch unfolded Dynamic AMOLED 2X display made from Samsung’s Ultra-Thin Glass.
Galaxy Z Fold 2 rear cameras:
