A Closer Look at the Mi 11 Ultra, Xiaomi’s New Flagship Phone
It’s no secret that Xiaomi has been shaking up the smartphone game in recent years, but buckle yourself in because they’ve cranked it up to insane new levels with their latest flagship phone: the Mi 11 Ultra. It joins the base Xiaomi Mi 11 and Mi 11 Lite which landed in Singapore in early 2021, offering a top-shelf alternative that packs Xiaomi’s latest innovations into a sleek new phone. But as you’ll soon see, this isn’t just any phone.
Design: Two displays for twice the fun
Xiaomi’s latest phone bursts right out of the gate with a truly unique design, which they affectionately dub The Director’s Cut. The first thing you’ll notice is the large bump on the back, which houses three cameras and a mini second display. Yep, this beast not only has a massive 6.81-inch curved front display, but also a nifty screen on the back that can show the time, current battery and notifications.
You can even use the rear display to take selfies with the more advanced rear cameras – a game-changer for group shots. With a ceramic finish available in black or white, this is one amazing smartphone.
Camera: Super large sensors and 8K video
The Mi 11 Ultra has made a serious case for being the best Xiaomi phone for photography, thanks to three butt-kicking cameras and massive image sensors. The 50MP main and 48MP ultrawide cameras combine for amazing photos even at night with razor sharp focus and advanced HDR, while the third 48MP periscope camera gives you up to a completely bonkers 120x zoom. Yes, you read that correctly. 120. One-two-zero. Wow!
If you’re also a fan of those fancy moving pictures, AKA videos, you’ll be stunned to learn the Mi 11 Ultra supports stunning 8K recording plus a range of cinematic features and filters. Oh, and we can’t forget the impressive 20MP selfie snapper!
Battery, performance and all the rest
Most of us don’t just want an awesome camera or a flashy display in a new phone. Both of those things are great, but we also want something that can run our favorite apps with ease, has plenty of battery life and has the storage we need for files and photos.
Well, the engineers must have come to Singapore and heard us chatting about it at the water cooler, because Xiaomi’s latest phone just keeps ticking the boxes. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset handles intensive apps and gaming, helped along by an advanced cooling system to help reduce overheating. Up to 12GB RAM makes multitasking a breeze and up to 512GB internal storage leaves plenty of room for all your clips and snaps.
As for the battery? The Mi 11 Ultra packs a whopping 5000mAh battery into its frame, with wireless charging capable of boosting you back up to 100% in just 36 minutes. With speeds like that, we’re expecting their next Xiaomi phone to do straight up magic. If you’re as shocked as us and happen to knock the phone off the table in the process, the Corning Gorilla glass Victus will help protect the display from cracks and scratches.
Xiaomi’s latest phone shows they mean business
The Mi 11 Ultra is a massive step for a brand that was already blowing us away. Its bold design, epic camera and dual-display make it one of the freshest smartphones to land in Singapore in 2021, perfect for influencers, tech heads, professionals, gamers and everyone in between. The only thing that thrills us more than the Mi 11 Ultra is the prospect of what they’ll launch next.
