CIRCLES LIFE IS FREEZING ITS MOBILE PLAN PRICING FOR 18 MONTHS IN RESPONSE TO TELSTRA’S PRICE HIKE
The digital telco has pledged to keep money in Australian’s pockets during the country’s cost of living crisis
AUSTRALIA, 14 JULY 2022 – In support of Australians who are feeling the pinch from increased costs of (almost) everything across the country right now, one of Australia’s fastest growing digital telco’s Circles Life has taken a stance against Telstra. Instead of following in the footsteps of the telco-giants and increasing costs for Aussies, Circles Life is freezing its plan pricing across the board for 18 months.
Commenting on the price freeze, Nicholas Demos, Head of Country at Circles Life said: “When the cost of everything is going up, we want to be the odd one out and give Aussies some much needed relief. We’re calling it The Big Price Freeze, and customers from any telco in Australia can switch to Circles Life and lock in their pricing for the next 18 months.”
Despite the financial woes that Australians have experienced over the last few years, Telstra increased its post-paid plans between $5-15 per month in 2021 and another $2-4 increase went into effect on 1 July 2022; a price hike that isn’t helping the 8.7 million consumers who are doing it tough.
“With costs of essentials soaring, the decision from Telstra to increase the price of their plans is a disservice to hard-working Australians and a pretty poor way to reward their loyal customers. Businesses should be looking for ways to leverage technology to provide a more cost-efficient and seamless customer experience, so they can pass that onto their customers. We like to think we’re more tech than telco” said Demos.
At the end of 2021 the average postpaid plan in Australia was $35 per month, but with a simple switch to a digital telco like Circles Life, Aussies can pay nearly 30% lower than the average price. Telstra users currently paying $58/month for 40GB of data can save $28 and more than double their data amount with Circles Life’s 100GB plan brought down to $30/month for 18 months – which could be more than $500 over 18 months.
Those that don’t need as much data can take advantage of the Big Price Freeze and expect to be paying less than 70 cents per gigabyte for a year and a half, with Circles Life’s 30GB plan, available for just $20/month – almost a third of the price of Telstra’s basic plan.
Not only can Aussies put their hard earned money back into their pockets, but the national coverage they are accessing won’t be impacted as Circles Life runs on the Optus 4G plus network.
The Big Price Freeze price lock from Circles Life is available to new customers who sign up between 14 July and 31 August 2022, but Circles Life customers are never locked into a contract, so current users can request to switch onto a Big Price Freeze plan to take advantage of the savings.
