From 28/10/2024, if your device doesn’t work with Optus 4G network or relies on 3G network for emergency calls, then you won't be able to make an emergency call to Triple Zero (000). [The current advice from Optus as viewable on 21/05/2024]

Therefore, we strongly recommend upgrading to a VoLTE-supported device to ensure your safety and maintain access to emergency services. While the absence of VoLTE support may not affect other functionalities, the inability to make emergency calls is a critical concern that should not be overlooked.
