The iPhone 14 is finally here. Is it a game changer?

Apple officially launched the iPhone 14 series earlier in September. This new lineup consists of standard along with pro models, with the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max getting most of the new features from the A16 Bionic to the newly improved camera and the new Dynamic Island.

Bigger, more durable, longer lasting

Apple has gone big with the iPhone 14 series with even the iPhone Mini upgrading in size into the iPhone Plus.

Even though the A16 bionic chip is only available for both the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, the standard iPhone 14 models still get a boost with the A15. Not only will you have incredible gaming graphics, but it’s also more energy-efficient.

Shaper selfies

While there are significant improvements in the camera’s overall specs, there’s also the fact that both the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus supports autofocus for the first time. What this means is sharper and more detailed selfies without the blur.

In addition, their cameras also come with a larger aperture which means you’re able to capture better images in low-light performance.

Smoother videos

There’s nothing worse than capturing videos on your iPhone and seeing how choppy and dizzy it all looks in the end. With the iPhone 14’s Action Shooting Mode, you’ll be able to record smooth action in all of your videos.

Unique design

As mentioned earlier, there’s no longer an iPhone Mini in the lineup. Instead, Apple has replaced it with the iPhone Plus. In comparison to the standard iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, the pro models come with a better camera and a telephoto lens. They also have an adaptive refresh rate and of course, the Dynamic Island.

The Dynamic Island has been making waves across the iPhone 14 world due to the way it interacts with other functionalities on the iPhone. Oh, and of course not forgetting the fact that it’s changed the iPhone design.

If you like having a pill-shaped area that houses your alerts, notifications and interactions (essentially an information hub on your phone), you’ll like the Dynamic Island.

Other than the unique design, the iPhone 14 series also comes in some incredible colours. The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max now come in purple (along with the other standard colours) while the iPhone 14 or iPhone 14 Plus come in colours such as red, midnight, starlight, blue and purple - you’re practically spoilt for choice!

Let’s face it, the entire iPhone 14 series comes with unique features that make it a head-turner. While the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus have certainly seen some upgrades, if you’re willing to splurge a bit more, we’d say go ahead and get the iPhone Pro or Pro Max.
