The Coolest iPhone Tricks We Learned From TikTok

While TikTok is a fantastic platform that’s full of entertaining videos and dances, did you know that there are also plenty of iPhone tricks that you can learn from the platform?

Here at Circles.Life we took the liberty of finding out all the coolest iPhone tricks on TikTok; from the more basic ones to the super interesting ones and more. (We know you want to show how nifty you are with your phone.)

Unlock your iPhone with your voice

We definitely didn’t know this one, but apparently you can unlock your iPhone without keying in a passcode, but instead, by saying a sentence or word of your choice.
To do this, choose a phrase and each time you say it, your phone will unlock.

• Head to Settings followed by Accessibility and then Voice Control
• Then, tap on ‘Customise Commands’
• Then, tap ‘Create New Command’ before typing a custom phrase of your choice

After you’ve done the above, you’ll need to hit “Run Customer Gesture” before entering your passcode sequence on the screen. Once that’s done you’re good to go!
While this is a super cool trick, just remember that it does affect the security of your iPhone - especially if you’re around people and they can hear the phrase you’re using to open your phone. Be sure not to share this special phrase with anyone.

Change your phone’s colour scheme

It’s easy to change the colour scheme of your iPhone - all you’ve got to do is follow this simple trick.

• Head to Settings, Accessibility followed by Display & Text Size
• Then, go ahead and turn on your “Colour Filters” before choosing the colour of your choice.
• In total, there are four colour filters that you’re able to choose from along with a colour tint option.

While this feature was originally made for those who are colour blind, it does create a really vibrant theme. If you’d like, you can even change the intensity and hue in settings.

Prevent users from scrolling through your phone

There’s nothing worse than handing your phone to someone and without your permission they’ve started to scroll to see what else they can find.

Here’s a neat trick we’ve found from TikTok that can prevent this. All you’ve got to do is:

• Head to Settings followed by Accessibility.
  
• Tap on “Guided Access” and then go ahead and allow “Passcode Settings”

After you’ve set this, tap your screen thrice before you hand your phone to somebody and make sure you select “Guided Success”.
Once you’ve done the above, your screen will lock and they won’t be able to scroll through your phone and see anything else.

Have Siri eject water if your phone gets wet

This one’s a life saver. If you’ve accidentally spilled water on your phone, you know the anxiety of hoping that water hasn’t seeped far enough into your phone to cause damage.

To fix this, consider downloading the Water Eject shortcut from the Shortcuts Gallery.

In the event that your phone gets wet, all you’ve got to do is simply say to Siri “Water Eject shortcut” and Siri will play an interesting lower bass sound that will eject any water that might have been in your phone’s speakers.

Shoot in 4K

If you’re someone that likes capturing videos, you’ll be glad to know that there’s a way to shoot in 4K on your iPhone. By default, you’re not able to take 4K video shots as the files can be large and take up a lot of space.
To enable this, simply:

• Open “Settings” and tap your Camera.
• In the “Record Video” setting, simply tap that and choose “4K at 60 fps” to get the highest quality video

Start a secret chat

Always wanted to start a secret chat with friends on your iPhone? This little TikTok trick taught us that it’s more than possible to do so. Best of all? It won’t show up on your iMessages and you can even send drawings. (We won’t judge.)
All you’ve got to do is:

• Go to the “Notes” app and tap the “Add User” icon to add a friend to your note.
• Once they’re added, you’ll be able to chat with them without anyone knowing.

Here’s a sneaky tip, you can even lock the note to prevent it from being accessed without a password. While the notes can still be screenshot, it’s just a fun way to have a private chat without doing so through iMessages.
